Joinery made for Warwick homes

Warwick is a short run from our workshop. Much of our work here is in older properties where nothing is square, exactly the situation made-to-measure joinery is for.

We work throughout Warwick

We work throughout Warwick and the villages around it, from the town centre and Emscote to Woodloes Park, Warwick Gates, Budbrooke, Hampton Magna and Barford. Everything is manufactured at our workshop in Stratford-upon-Avon and fitted in Warwick by the same five people, including our in-house electrician.

Getting to you and booking dates

The distance between our workshop and Warwick is short enough that surveys, design visits and fitting days are all comfortably managed in a normal working day. Rather than advertising a response time we cannot guarantee, we agree a consultation slot with you by phone and then confirm firm manufacture and fitting dates in writing.

Property types in Warwick

Warwick's housing is unusually varied for a town of its size: medieval and Georgian buildings inside the old town, Victorian terraces along the Emscote and Coten End roads, substantial 1930s houses, and modern estates at Warwick Gates and Chase Meadow. Each demands a different approach, matched mouldings and careful scribing in the old town, storage-led design in the newer homes.

What we are asked for most here

In Warwick we are most often asked for alcove cupboards and bookcases beside chimney breasts, fitted wardrobes in bedrooms with uneven walls, bespoke kitchens for period properties, wall panelling in hallways and dining rooms, and under-stairs storage in terraced houses where the hall is the only route through the ground floor.

Local building conditions

The problems Warwick properties bring us

Out-of-square rooms in the old town

Inside Warwick's historic core, rooms rarely have two parallel walls. An alcove can taper 20mm from floor to ceiling, which is enough to leave a visible wedge of daylight behind a shop-bought bookcase. We measure at three heights and both diagonals, then build to those numbers and scribe the edges.

Chimney breasts and unequal alcoves

Victorian terraces along Emscote and Coten End almost always have two alcoves of slightly different widths. Building both to the same shelf and door lines, despite the difference in width, is what makes a pair of units look intentional rather than improvised.

Narrow hallways and staircases

Terraced Warwick houses funnel everything through one hall. Under-stairs pull-outs and hallway bench joinery recover storage from the one place in the house that is otherwise doing nothing.

Modern estates with limited storage

Warwick Gates and Chase Meadow homes are square and dry but short on storage and architectural detail. Full-height wardrobes, panelling and media walls address both in a single project.

Common questions

Answers before you enquire

Do you serve Warwick?

Yes. Warwick is one of our core areas and a short run from our Stratford-upon-Avon workshop.

How quickly can you get to Warwick for a consultation?

We arrange consultations by appointment rather than quoting a fixed response time. Call 01527 757009 and we will book the earliest slot that suits you.

How much does fitted furniture cost in Warwick?

Every project is priced individually after a survey, there is no fixed price list because nothing is standard. The consultation and quotation are free.

Do you offer emergency joinery in Warwick?

No. All of our work is made to order in our workshop and runs to an agreed programme.

Can you match the mouldings in a period Warwick property?

Yes. We take a profile from the existing work and machine to match rather than substituting a modern stock moulding.

Do you fit wardrobes into sloping ceilings and eaves?

Yes. Angled carcasses and eaves drawers are built to the true angles recorded at survey.

Who actually carries out the work?

Our own team of five, including an in-house electrician. Nothing is subbed out.

What deposit is required?

30–50% depending on the size of the project, with the balance due on completion.

We couldn't be happier with the work MJS did building the children's playroom at Hooray's Gelato Kitchen. This was the first time they'd taken on a project like this, and you honestly would never know it.
